This article discusses managing your deployed servers. There are quite a lot of settings you can change on an existing server, however, some require you to shutdown the server first.
First, let’s look at the Server listing view. The screenshot is taken right after the How to Deploy a Server tutorial so you can still see the root password (we have destroyed that server so don’t get any ideas). You can see the server’s basic information here and the common operations: Restart, Shutdown etc. Shutdown the server and then click “Settings” to proceed.
You can now see more detailed information of the server and the basic settings such as allocated CPU and RAM. Note: if you didn’t yet shutdown the server, some settings will be grayed out. The tabs of the settings view let you manage different aspects of the server.
Console: you can start a VNC connection to the server here. Handy if SSH is not working for some reason.
Disks: manage this specific server’s connected storage disks. See Resizing Storage if you want to increase or decrease the size of an existing storage disk.
Backups: take a one-off backup or configure automated backups.
IP addresses: add/remove IP-addresses to/from this server. See Allocating IP-addresses to learn about OS level changes required when dealing with IP-addresses.
Firewall: configure the L3 level firewall’s incoming and outgoing rules.
